It Came from Outer Space

Artist

Made for my BA final show, ‘It Came from Outer Space’ comprises of three groups of forms: 'Not of This Earth': small hanging pods, 'Plan 9': larger flared pieces, and 'Day of the Triffids': long, standing forms.

The pieces were inspired by the forms of carnivorous plants, along with the aesthetic and tongue-in-cheek attitude of 1950s B-movies. Using exaggerated scale and unnatural colours taken from B-movie posters, I created blown glass pieces intended for outdoor installation.
